Youth In Action Balochistan

Introduction:

Youth in Action Balochistan (YIAB) is an independent registered non-government and nonprofit civil society organization based at Balochistan Province. YIAB prime motto is capacity building and services delivery to the deprived and marginalized people of the society.

Youth in Action Balochistan appeared into the arena of social services with the enthusiasm to support and serve the underprivileged populace in the grassland of peace, health (Sex & reproductive health, HIV / AIDS and Appetites), Education, Human Rights, Drugs, Poverty Eradication, Gender Discrimination and Environment etc.

YIAB was founded in 2007 when a group of educated, dynamic and like-minded youth working in development sector got together to establish an NGO aimed to addressed the most urgent and pressing needs of the people of Balochistan. This group had a long experience of working in development related activities and was either directly or indirectly associated with local or International organizations. The group concluded that unless the efficiency of the human resource especially women of the remote areas are not properly improved and mobilized for awareness, education and social development, human rights and tolerance will not get nurture in the society. They also realized that in order to initiate any development activity at the grass roots, Youth in Action Balochistan would have to first involve the local people for whom the work was being initiated. Ancient tribal customs, extreme poverty and lack of basic social services, absence of enabling policies to address the prevailing issues all had impact on the people of this region.
